Meet Molly Ortner at GritCycle

What kind of classes do you teach

Indoor cycling to the beat for GritCycle- I teach at the Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach locations,

Where were you raised and where do you currently live? Age, if ok.

I was raised in Connecticut and went to undergrad (art school) on the east coast.

I moved to Los Angeles in 2011, then down to Costa Mesa in 2014... I feel like I found my home!

What motivates you to get up in the morning?

I teach early AM classes- luckily I am a morning person. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is start my coffee and play queue up some loud music- it helps me get amped up for my classes.

Is there a book you’re reading right now?

Retire Inspired by Chris Hogan #adulting

If you could only do two workouts a week, what would it be?

Grit and Boxing!

Is there a teacher that you love learning from?

I love the teachers who let their personalities shine and are always themselves- that's how I strive to be.

What is your favorite way to spend a day outdoors?

To be honest my favorite way to spend a day outdoors is laying on the beach/the occasional surf! But I also love a desert hike, or a boardwalk bike ride.

Are there any charities you support?

The past couple of years I have volunteered for a program to "share your English" to help immigrants learn practical English skills... And every year the Gritty Up event at GritCycle raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for John Wayne Cancer Foundation- which was one of my favorite things about Grit when I started working there.
