Meet Jennifer Galardi

What kind of classes do you teach?

Yoga (various styles), Meditation, Dance, Barre

Where were you raised and where do you currently live? Age, if ok.

Born and raised near Scranton, PA and currently live in Topanga, CA.

What motivates you to get up in the morning?

My kitty, Zeus. 😸

Besides that, my daily practice of ritual, chanting and meditation.

Is there a book you’re reading right now?

A few, per usual. The great Indian epic, The Ramayana. Also, Save The Cat, a book for screenwriting. Just finished The Way Of The Superior Man by David Deida and I often open it up just to keep that wisdom fresh in the brain. And Tattoos On The Heart by Father Gregory Boyle for daily inspiration and teachings on compassion. I like books.

If you could only do two workouts a week, what would it be?

Dance.

Is there a teacher that you love learning from?

I am inspired by my teachers, Rod Stryker and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. It is always uplifting and soothing to be in their presence. The grace of this lineage blesses me everyday. I also love listening to Sally Kempton's teachings and meditations.

What is your favorite way to spend a day outdoors?

Hiking or swimming in the ocean.

Are there any charities you support?

I tend to donate time or money to organizations that cross my path at the right time. I don't have one in particular.

Where can we find you teaching classes?

Yogaworks and Equinox. Mostly on the West Side. πŸ˜‰

Last, what is in your gym bag?

I don't usually carry a gym bag with me unless I have to shower and change to go somewhere after a workout! I tend to always wear "Yoga Chic" attire! πŸ˜ƒ However for a cardio or strength session, I have to have my wireless headsets and my iPhone for music. I'll dance anywhere. And usually always keep a pair of sneakers and at least one extra tee shirt in the car.
